Oya & Yemoya Astro
           Blog

This is my astro blog- I choose this name because Yemoya is the orisha-energy that is influenced by the element of Water and the Moon.  I am a Cancer Sun with a Scorpio Moon. After years of studying my chart, I have learned how to embrace and work with all my energy.  To learn moor about me, select the button below.

SuperMoon to the Rescue

As of 7:32 AM (EST), we have come into a Full Moon- and guess what?  It's SUPER!
Honors to you all for expanding your Self by building your knowledge.  We are all on this Earth realm to re-member yourSelves.  The story of Ausar and Auset is symbolic of what we go through when we choose to come back to this place.  Ausar was dismembered by his brother Set, who separated his body into 12 pieces.  Aset, the feminine principle, was devoted to her brother-husband and put him back together.

What does this have to do with the SUPERMOON.  In actuality, it is called the perigee moon.  The perigee is the Moon's closest point to Earth.  This is the closest the Moon will be the the Earth all year!  The moon will not be this close again until August 2014.

A SUPERMOON is in effect when there is a new or full moon that is at or near the closest approach to the Earth.  Thus, the Sun, Moon, and Earth are aligned.

Astrologically speaking, this Summer Solstice Super-Full-Moon is bringing a sense of balance through discipline.  The Full Moon and SuperMoon aspects illuminate the type of energy being expended.  As stated in a previous post (and will be discussed moor in tomorrow's post), the Moon represents emotions, intuition, and nurturing- this is our TruSelves.

With the Moon in Capricorn, the hidden/inner Self is all about self-discipline.  We have to master our emotions, which is beautiful because the Sun is in Cancer (emotions).  So we are to express our emotions, but be sure to do so in a constructive manner.

A Capricorn Moon is often considered to be a debilitated or in detriment.  However, I love Earth sign moons because it brings much stability and logic to my wavering inner emotions (hmm, still hav yet to reveal my moon, but stayed in-tuned for tomorrow's blog).

My suggestion- the new or full moon is a good time to make affirmations.  Get some paper and into a peaceful space.
  • For the full moon, begin with giving honor and thanks to the Universe for all the lessons and blessings you hav acquired (since the new moon if you follow lunar cycles).
  • Write out that which you seek to illuminate.  This must be done the first day of the Full Moon (before it begins to wane).
  • Now, you are seeking to release (since the moon will be waning).  Write out that which you seek to let go of/that which you would like to diminish (to make room for the light and healing and loving energy that will come with the New Moon in 14 days).
  • For the releasing affirmations, roll your paper up away from you and tie it with a red string, away from you.
  • Go into your backyard or the back of your home, or somewhere far from home (like in the forest), and burn your affirmations.
  • Call on any energies you sense are seeking to aid you.  If you follow Orishas, Cosmology, or some type of religion, use whatever is already familiar to you.
  • Blow/scatter your ashes AWAY from you and your home.
  • Breathe, smile, and walk away.  You have set the tone for the next two weeks.

Just like any other detox, it may be trying at times, because you have told the Universe/God that this is what you seek to release.  There are entities that do not want you to release because your downfall is their uprising.  But maintain your affirmations daily, visualize your goals, get into those mantras, and do the WORK!!

Lov n light on this new week,
   Selah
